China downs Palestine 3-1 in soccer friendly

TIANJIN, China, July 18 (Xinhua) -- China beat Palestine 3-1 at an international soccer friendly here on Saturday.

"China is much stronger than us, and the result is logical. But we don't bring our best players here, so it's difficult for us," said Palestine coach Mosa Bazaz.

"I've said before the game that we cannot look down upon Palestine. It's a tough game, and I'm very happy with the victory," said China boss Gao Hongbo.

Right winger Qu Bo opened the scoring on 11 minutes with a small-angle shot after rounding a defender with his amazing paces. Gao Lin doubled the advantage after the break with an easy goal as Zheng Long's accurate back pass picked the unmarked substitute striker inside the box.

Midfielder Yang Hao made the third in the 59th minute following Zheng Long's assist. In the injury time, Palestinian captain Ahmed Keshkesh coverted a consolation goal from a penalty.

Chinese keeper Yang Zhi was sent off for his foul, which resulted in the penalty.
