Indonesian football team hopes match with MU unaffected by bombs attack

JAKARTA, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's national football team hopes its match with Manchester United (MU) can be held on July 20 as scheduled despite the impacts of the two bombings here early Friday.

The blasts wrecked parts of two hotels, J.W. Marriot Hotel and Ritz Carlton Hotel, and caused casualties, the private TV station MetroTV quoted a government official as saying.

Andi Darussalam, the manager of Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) said that his team has been staying in the J.W. Marriot Hotel since Thursday while the MU was scheduled to stay in the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

"All of our team members are safe," Andi said.

He said that the MU team may move to other hotel.

"This is sad. However, we hope that the match can be carried out anyway," said Andi.

The MU team would match with the Indonesian All Stars team on July 20 as part of its Asian tour.
