Bolivian side fields 12-year-old player

LA PAZ, July 20 (Xinhua) -- A 12-year-old boy may become the youngest player in Bolivian top-flight professional soccer when he made his appearance in a first division game.

Mauricio Baldivieso, the son of Aurora club coach Julio Cesar Baldivieso, entered the match Sunday in the 84th minute in a game Aurora lost 1-0 to La Paz FC.

Baldivieso, turning 13 on Wednesday, is believed to be the youngest player to take the field in a top-flight game in the South American country.

Baldivieso wore No. 10, the same number his father once wore playing for Bolivia's national team.

The younger Baldivieso touched the ball three times, and was knocked down once by an opponent.
