River Plate defeats Nacional 4-2 in Uruguayan league

MONTEVIDEO, July 26 (Xinhua) -- River Plata defeated Nacional 4-2 on Sunday in the third round of the Uruguayan league.

Nacional opened scoring with a goal from Jorge Cazulo in the 5th minute, before River leveled at 19th minute with Hernry Gimenez and went ahead 2-1 in the 40 minute through Bruno Montelongo.

Sergio Blanco scored on 62 minutes for Nacional, but later Jorge Rodriguez at 66 and Bruno Montelongo at 90 scored for River, leaving the final score 4-2.

Earlier on Sunday, Racing beat Cerro 3-1, while Liverpool and Defensor Sporting tied 0-0.

Racing tops the league standings with seven points, followed by Cerro on six, Liverpool on five, Defensor Sporting on four, River Plate on three and Nacional zero.
