RIO DE JANEIRO, July 26 (Xinhua) -- With all eyes on Ronaldo, it was Palmeiras striker Obina that received all the attention as Palmeiras beat Corinthians 3-0 on Sunday.
All of Palmerias' goals came from Obina, in the 31st minute, the 60th minute and the 65th minute.
Obina's preferred goal was his first when he dove on the ground after a crossed ball from Chicao to head the ball into the net.
His second goal came off a penalty kick while his third goal came off an assist from Cleiton Xavier.
With the victory, Palmeiras now has 28 points and is in second place behind Atletico-MG. Corinthians, due to their loss, remains with 23 points and dropped to fifth place.
Returning to the scene where he scored his first goal in a Corinthians jersey, Ronaldo was unable to repeat the feat as he was taken off the field in the 18th minute due to injury.
Sunday's game also marked the first official appearance of Muricy Ramalho as the head coach of Palmeiras.
